Hi, I was doing a chemistry problem and I don't understand why the conjugate base of acetic acid is a weak base (the correct ans). If you have a weak acid shouldn't it be a strong conjugate base?
Stronger the acid (HA),weaker the conjugate base (anionA).
So conjugate base of acetic acid is a strong base and we know acetic acid is a weak acid.
Explain by chemical reaction as
-more
value of Ka more acidic and less basic.
Less value of Ka (comparison to acid ) then more basic and less acidic.
