I am doing a written report on how hydroprower goes from a hydroelectric dam to some ones home. I need a summary on the disbatch system and all of the different parts and what they do. Thank you in advance.
Hydropower Plant work on principle of conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy on large scale.
Mechanical energy mean sum of Kinetic energy and and Gravitational energy .
Dam is constructed on river to raise the water level by cost of free kinetic energy of river water flowing in the river that is collected in the form of Potential energy of raised water in dam.
Further Potential energy of raised water is utilized to rotate the hydraulic turbines whose shaft is connected with dynamo allowing raised water to fall on turbines.
Dynamo works on Fraday law of Electrimagnetic Induction.
E.M.I. tells us whenever a conductor rotate or moves in magnetic field Induced emf is generated in the conductor.
In dynamo power full magnets is installed to give Magnetic field.
How ever Hydropower power plant generates electricity at very cheap cost and pollution free but its maintenance is very costly.
Power generated by Hydropower power plants is Alternating in nature
which gives us advantages of transmission of Power to long distance at low loss of power.
In consumer home electric power is supplied by transformer to use it safely. In America we get power supply generally 110 volts 120 bolt.
