1. Describe the chain of events that occurs if oxygen is deprived from a cell or individual, i.e. why will you die if you do not get oxygen to your cells? Go step by step, describe the effect on the ETS and chemiosmotic phosphorylation, the Krebs cycle, the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl CoA, and glycolysis.

2.  Draw a short strand of DNA with the following sequence of nucleotides: 5’ Guanine Cytosine Adenine Cytosine 3’ (5’ GCAC 3’). Show the sugars, phosphates, nitrogenous bases, hydrogen bonds, and the 3’ and 5’ ends. Then draw its complementary DNA strand using the appropriate complementary nucleotides. The diagram on page 179 of the lecture outline shows the amount of detail I am looking for. I do not want you to copy the diagram at the top of page 179; it is only an example. I am asking for a different sequence and number of nucleotides.
