  • If you performed a restriction digest on genomic DNA and ran it on a gel, what would you see?

Answer- We will see bands of different sizes. The separation will be based on size. The smaller fragments will move faster than larger bands.

Restriction enzyme fragments the DNA. When restriction digestion enzyme is added to the genome, then it will cleave the DNA strand. The number of strands will depend on the restriction sites of the restriction enzymes.
