Can you check my RHR for magnetic force thank you
Pre-Lab: Thinking About The Right Hand Rule
This is a fairly short warm-up exercise. Consider a current-carrying wire that is in a magnetic field. Assume all angles between current direction and magnetic field are 90o.
Q0.1. If the wire carries current to your left and the magnetic field points towards you, in which direction will it be forced?
up
Q0.2. If the wire carries current northwest and the magnetic field points straight down, in what direction will it be forced?
West
Q0.3. If the wire carries current to your left and is forced upwards, in what direction is the magnetic field?
Out towards you
Q0.4. If the wire carries current at 45o up from North and it is forced due East, what direction is the magnetic field?
Out towards you
Q0.5. If a wire in a magnetic field pointed away from you is pushed down, in what direction does the current flow?
Current is flowing into the board
Q0.6. If a wire in a northward-pointing magnetic field is pushed 30o up from due East, in what direction does the current flow?
45-degree Northeast
So, the main points of RHR is ,
Forefinger - Magnetic field
Central Finger - Direction of current.
Thumb - Force.
In other way you can simply find it by using-
F = q ( v x B )
now, we see that the direction of F would be in the direction of velocity of charge cross Magnetic field B.
0.1 Upward.
0.2 . North-East.
0.3 Away from you.
0.4 Away from you, going 450 up.
0.5 towards my right.
0.6 60 degree up west.
