Describe how each of the parameters below could affect microbe communities in an ecological system. Examples of ecosystems are a pond, or a meadow; even your garden in a backyard could be considered an ecosystem. The first parameter has been done for you.

a. Density (example): A low density will mean that there are more resources for the microbe colonies and they can proliferate successfully in the absence of intense competition. A high density will force the individuals to compete for resources, one species of microbes may be a better competitor and become more abundant than other species.
