The three factors which are the most important external factors facing higher education and how they impact colleges and universities are-

1- Economic factor because this factor affects the source of funding, purchasing power of people to pay for tution fee, rate of employment in our country. for example- if economic condition of a country is poor then in that country, there will be lack of resources like lack of teachers,lack of infrastructure, lack of people having high purchasing power to pay for college fee etc. all this because of lack of budget, economic conditions like depression or recession etc.

2- Political factor because as we all know that Colleges and universities are run by funding of government. The U. S. constitution stipulates that education is a responsibility of the states, and thus the fifty states have basic responsibility for higher education . if they do not provide funding and resources to colleges and universities then level of education will go down and higher education will be affected.

3-Social factor also have incredible impact on higher education because there are some colleges who things that education should be given to people of high class society or white people but society is changing and becoming diverese. people in society are having equal rights to education so this factor is also affect admissions, level of education, access to educational resources, chance for scholartships because society is changing.

the other factors are not important like Technology is important but not as important as above because as we all know that technology is dynamic in nature but it is the one which is applied and adopted by many colleges and universities to improve the level of education, technology is like a opportunity for higher education while above factors kind pose as threat to college and universities.

Competitive is not important as above because it can be handled by management and people of higher education taking care of universities. Competition is always there in market even small of big, poor or rich but competition can be handled but above forces are out of control of the management and authorities of colleges and universities.
