When it is at the coordinate position x = 2m and y = 1.6m the speed of the particle is 8m/s and
the rate of increase in speed is  = 4 m/s2 . At this instant the particle is moving in the

direction so that ‘x’ is decreasing.
Calculate the magnitude and direction of the acceleration of the particle at this instant.
