What are the actual consequences in regards to gastrointestinal health for birds feeding on feeders? Considering this study touched upon how fungus and bacteria grow in deionized and tap water, respectively, which is worse for hummingbirds based on their gastrointestinal flora?

  Birds who feed on feeders may develop gastro intestinal infection cause d by salmonella. Thus is the most common causative bacteria which spread bacteria by air or by dropping of infected birds. If a infected bird comes in contact with feeders there are chances that the infected bird may transfer its disease by drooping which may get contaminated to other healthy birds leading o gastro intestinal infection like salmonella. Which affects the GI tracts leading to diarrhea, ruffled feathers, and lethargy and leading to death. The GI tract of humming birds harbor a variety of microbes which may further causes the spread of disease apart from these some fungi and yeast also harbor he GI tract.
