Question

Graphing portion of Part C (Using the 22 uf capacitor) As in Part C of your lab, graph the given data and solve for the time

If someone could solve for this on a "LineFit" program provided through google (or excel), i would appreciate it. Below are the posted instructions for Part C- thanks!!

From your results, the effective internal resistance of the voltmeter can be found. For the discharge of the capacitor, (12)

Graphing portion of Part C (Using the 22 uf capacitor) As in Part C of your lab, graph the given data and solve for the time constant, τ-RC, and the initial 6. potential difference, Vmax In(V)(-1/T) t + In Vmax 3.00 2.50 2.00 1.50 1.00 0.50 t (sec)5176107 149 208 307 Use LineFit or Java Script version (or your favorite method) to graph the above data Slope: y-int x-int max

From your results, the effective internal resistance of the voltmeter can be found. For the discharge of the capacitor, (12) where, in this case, R is actually the internal resistance of the voltmeter. If V-½ then: (13) 2 e Taking logs and solving for R gives: (14) (C In 2) Use Equation 14 to calculate the resistance of the voltmeter. (It will be very large.)

    8. Capacitance in circuits, RC circuits When a voltage source Vo is applied to a capacitor in a circuit which has a resistance R, a charge Q CV will build up across the capacitor. This does not happen instantaneously, but takes some time. The charge builds up exponentially with a characteristic time r = RC. Answer for part b is R=247 and V=16v 50. (8 points) You set up the circuit shown below, C = 5.00 uF. At the time t = 0, you close the switch and then measure the charge q on the capacitor a function of the current i through the resistor.
