What is the concept of story points. How are story points created. What are story points and how do they apply to the overall AGILE process?
The concept of story point relates with the metric which is utilized in the agile projects to identify the difficulty level of implementing any story (i.e. business requirement or feature need to be developed by the team; based on the complexity the stories are broken into smaller manageable components). Story points are created based on the elements such as complexity of the story, unknown factors and significant effort needed for the implementation of the story. These are expressed in numerical terms. Story point plays an important role in Agile process as it helps to define the size of the effort to be carried, scope of the work, offers more clarity, complexity of the work, duration of the work to be done and what are the risks involved. This is totally dependent on the technology and tools involved, skills by the development team and domain knowledge.
