The audience would be engineering students. The audience’s takeaway from this seminar would be how to transform themselves into future leaders .

Engineers are creative people . They need to have a vision by which they envisage how a product will unfold. This can be extended to starting or running an organisation. This is essentially what exactly leadership is. So leadership is in the DNA of engineers.Still engineers need to mould themselves strategically to become leaders and this can be done through non- engineering skillsets .They need to gain skills in sales, marketing communication , finance and Human Resource . This would give them a lot of diversity which is essential to becoming a leader. Leaders work more on EQ or emotional intelligence rather than IQ. Engineers work primarily on IQ. Engineers work more on IQ than on EQ. So the following transition needs to be made for an engineer to develop into a leader.However engineer CEO’s are more relevant in manufacturing or software industries where technical expertise is an edge rather than in the financial services or hospitality or services industry.

Keeping in mind the prospective audience, we can put forward a no of goals for this study

1. Long-term career goals for engineers

2. Can engineers pick up leadership skills .

3. Is leadership for engineers industry dependant .

4. How difficult or easy is it to make the transition.
