write a paragraph that explains HOW to succeed in an online college environment. The paragraph should be an informational process analysis. (Make sure you know the difference because there are two types.) Therefore, you are telling your audience how to succeed by choosing categories, such as not procrastinating. Then, you are explaining how these categories enable you to succeed (or not succeed). Remember, you are focused on the online classroom. Think about what makes an online classroom different from a campus classroom, and then focus on how a person can succeed online.

The paragraph should consist of a well-developed paragraph, which means: you need a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence (clincher). The paragraph should be unified and coherent with specific supporting details or examples for support. It should provide sentence variety (simple, compound, and complex sentences). The sentences should be clear, concise, and arranged in a logical order. Transitional words and phrases should be used to provide coherence. Choose one point of view: first, second, or third person.

Answer #1

Online education gives you the option to stay flexible in terms of your schedule, and also allows you a lot of time to do other work. It is therefore necessary to be able to manage that time effectively in order to be successful at pursuing online college education. Here are 5 tips to help you be successful.

1. Have the right expectations

Unlike what most people believe, online courses are normally not “blow-off” classes. They typically have comparable academic syllabi to their face-to-face counterparts. In fact, most online classes tend to incorporate more content compared to face-to-face classes, and are therefore able to complete double the content in half the time. You should be aware of this so that you are not taken by surprise when you see the course.

2. Create a conducive workspace

In a face-to-face course, you divide your time between a classroom and outside to study and finish assignments. However in the case of online courses, you will spend all of your time outside the classroom. Therefore, it’s that much more important that you find a place that is suitable to work. Find a silent place with a good internet connection, uninterrupted power, and freedom from diversion. Preferably, this would be someplace that you can visit and work in regularly in order to create a routine that you can follow.

3. Stay Organized

Like any other course, but particularly for an online one, it’s vital to stay organized. It’s also a good idea that you keep a copy of everything you submit in case of a technology problem and you need to resubmit an assignment—even your forum posts. It is also wise to take notes as you would in any other class and keep them organized so you don’t spend time that could be utilized to do something productive, searching for these notes.

4. Manage Time Wisely

A part of remaining organized that’s so important it justifies to be its own tip is having solid time management skills. Online courses definitely give you a lot of flexibility in terms of when and here you can study, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to study! Like you might go to a face-to-face lecture at the same time each week, you have to schedule time to study the course material and complete assignments. Treat that time as seriously as you would a face-to-face class by adhering to it, letting people know you are not available during that time, and consistently using your workspace. Monitor assignment due dates as well, adding those to your personal calendar.
