Answer #1

Some of the concepts of Strategic health care management: Planning and Execution are

  1. First it is about the strategy the need to be adopted in the health care management. All the variables needs to be considered while working out a strategy for health care management. The strategy that is devised needs to be implemented in a proper way to reach the desired goal.
  2. The market structure in which the healthcare industry is operating needs to be understood first. The strategy must be in line with the market structure. The business model that aptly suits the market structure must be adopted. If need be, to form any alliances with the other companies and organizations, must be considered, to provide better healthcare.
  3. The organization that is providing healthcare must have a definitive organizational structure and purpose. The stakeholders must be identified and their expectations must be set right. The mission, vision and the values of the organization must be clearly defined.
  4. Understanding how the organization is positioning itself with respect to the external environment. The finances that are flowing in and out of the company must be in order.
  5. Plans for achieving the mission and vision of the organization must be drafted and those plans must be executed in the right way.
  6. The business parameters are always subject to change. The strategy that was developed in the earlier stage may not work at the later stage. The change management is very important while executing the strategy. The individuals at the top management must possess good leadership skills which could foresee the changes and adopt according to the changes, by making minor modifications to the strategy.
  7. The final stage is the evaluation of the strategy in monitoring the process that has been adopted.

Example: One such real life example is that, there could be change in the some of the government reporting processes. The organization management should be quick to adapt to that change. They cannot be following the old reporting processes. This could lead to fines and other legal implications from the part of the government, that monitors healthcare organizations.
