Answer #1

The medical practices of high risk could be Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and general surgery and may require larger fees for malpractice insurance. Neurosurgery involves surgery in the brain which is very dangerous and even a small injury can be very harmful to the patient or his life. Orthopaedic surgery also is done based on number of factors like the patient’s response and fitness. Cardiothoracic surgery done on lungs and heart is also life threatening unless properly handled and also depends on the condition of the patient. Most of the general surgeries are planned surgery. But anything can go wrong during the surgery. So these specialities are apt for larger fees for malpractice.
