* Myocardial infarction.

          * It is a medical condition in which inadequate blood supply to

            the cells of the myocardium result in myocardal damage and

            alter the normal functioning heart.

Pathophysiology.

         * Coronary arteries provide enough blood supply to myocardial cells

           of the heart.

         * Atheroscerosis is a condition in which accumulation of plaques (deposit

           made up of fat,cholesterol and other substance) in the blood vessels.

         * Atherosclerosis developed in the coronary arteries result in blockage of

           coronary vessels.

         * Blocked coronary arteries fail to supply enough blood to cells of the myocardium.

         * Lack of blood supply in the myocardium result in lack of oxygen and nutrients in

           in myocardial cells and myocardial damage.

          * Myocardial damage may leads to cardiac arrest (Loss of heart function.)
