The primary initiative which Transport Canada, the government is focusing upon is the Green and Innovative Transportation. The target year for this initiative is 2030. Through this initiative, the government is trying to propagate a greener, safer as well as innovative transportation in Canada by the year 2030. The primary objectives of this initiative will be:

• Reduce carbon emission from vehicles to minimum
• Integration of latest technology in transportation system
• Reduction of carbon dating in the transportation system
• Maintaining focus on trade corridors
• Encouraging people to use efficient transport modes like bicycles, rail, etc.

These objectives are aiming at making the society greener and safer as well as sustainable in future.

Transport Canada has been offering opportunities for effective transport of products via supply chain intermediaries like fright forwarders as well as custom brokers. The government has started various initiatives and has given trade leeway to these intermediaries so that this supply chain sector becomes prosperous. The government has plans to spend more than $180 billion in the infrastructure of the region. This will increase the value addition of these intermediaries. Canada’s progressive trade as well as investment plan provides easy capital to these intermediaries so that they can work in collaboration with the government, so as to make transportation super smooth in Canada.
