Open ended as well as closed ended questions are essential to assess the customers' opinions and preferences regarding choice of a handset. The open ended questions would enable the user to express his /her views in unrestricted manner, which would enable the company to know more about customers, particularly the insights which the researcher might have missed on while setting up the questionnaire. The closed end ones would help to maintain objectivity and would keep the exercise focused.
