Ventral Hernia:
A ventral hernia is the bulge of tissues of the abdominal wall occur anywhere within the midline of the abdomen. The intestine may protrude into the gap of the abdominal wall and cause serious complications.
Pathophysiology:
The abdominal wall becomes weakened by birth, by previous surgery, or through straining. The weakened abdominal wall develops a tear or hole. The abdominal tissue or intestines may protrude through this gap and develops pain and discomfort.
