a) Safety in Lab is very essential when you work as a medical lab because if determines all the positive outcome and will help us to give a quality and safe patient care .I chose this topic because whatever else we learn if don't follow laboratory safety everything goes for waste as this is the most essential of all the knowledge that we have .

b)lab safety is important because

1)It can prevent morbidity and mortality of the staff:improper lab safety can lead to chemical reagent spill, malfunctioning of the equipment, contamination of the patients specimen,poor reporting,which leads to wrong diagnosis .when handling infectious samples inappropriate use of Personal protective equipment can lead to spread of disease.

2)it can extent the turn around time if lab safety is not followed the staff will not be able to work with full efficiency leading to delay in giving reports .It can give a wrong impression about the lab .it can send a message to professionals looking for job as they prefer to work in a safe environment.

3)it protects the infrastructure:safe lab handling can prevent equipment breakdown,fire due to chemicals or reagents .it can help in safe hguarding the records of patient.it can reduce the cost involved in repairing of these equipments .Thus use the funding for better use in diagnosis treaent of diseases

C)This knowledge about laboratory safety will help me to work effeciently in a safe manner .safe guarding the infrastructure and others life .This will help me to complete my assignment on a timely basis and provide accurate reports to patients .This knowledge will help me to orient and guide the novice lab technologist and can share this knowledge by taking lectures,in-service education to spread awareness and sensitize others to follow safe laboratory practices.I can use my knowledge in formulation of standard operating procedures,manuals, protocols.
