when naming alkynes like cyclobutyl I understand you will not use cyclo but will you use butyl when naming for alphabetical reasons? For example if you had a pentyl group would that go before or after the cyclo butyl. assuming that the cycloburyl was not the last compound when naming

for example what a answer be Pentyl-cyclobutyl-decane

or cyclobutyl-pentyl-decane

Whenever a cyclo- prefix is involved in name of group then "c" of cyclo- term is used for alphabetical consideration and not the chain name attached after it.

So, if we have cyclobutyl and pentyl group together in a molecule then for alphabetical consideration, "c" of cyclo and "p" of pentyl was considered. Since, "c" come first alphabetically thus cyclobutyl is written first. So, correct way is :

Cyclobutyl-pentyl-decane
