This can be seen in the context of the book in such a way that the duty towards the children also inhibited one's own needs and desires. This can also be related to real life situations. Providing unconditional love and performing ones duties generously and with utmost commitment is a continuous process. This can also lead to putting various tasks and duties before one's own needs and restricts the freedom of the individual voluntarily or involuntarily, without or without guilt and awareness.
