Being the civic-minded student that you are, you've become involved in a few volunteer positions in the local community. After working with these organizations for a year you become interested in the relationship between civic volunteering and life satisfaction, as your co-volunteers seem depressed. You think that volunteering with civic organizations may decrease a person's life satisfaction. You survey five of your friends on how many hours they spend volunteering in the past week and then record their life satisfaction scores that you obtain from a standardized survey that is assumed to have equal intervals throughout the scale.
