Participation bias or non response bias occurs when some significant number of people fail to participate in the study. This is not the case here as all people who bought cold medicine might have taken the poll.

There can be selection bias here as the study participants here are the only ones who come to buy medicine from the large drug store. Some sections of the people might be left out. Therefore, this study suffers from only selection bias.
