Question

0 1 An experiment was conducted to determine if experience has an effect on the time it takes for mice to run a maze. Four treatment groups, consisting of mice having been trained on the 2 maze one, two, three, and four times were run through the maze and their times recorded. Three mice were orginally assigned to each group, but it was discovered that some lab assistants, in 3 an attempt to win a bet, gave one mouse a stimulanat and another mouse a sedative. These mice were removed from the analysis. 5 Training runs 6 Times 11,9 7,8,9 6,5,7 5,3 20 24 8 ni 9 siA2 12 13 What is the model? 14 Fill out the ANOVA table and test whether the time to run the maze is affected by training. Answer #1

This problem we need to conduct single factor anova.

Hypothesis

Ho: The mean run time in the maze for different training runs is the same

H1: The mean run time in the maze for different training runs is not the same

Input the data in excel as shown

Go the data tab, and click on data analysis and select Single factor anova.

Input the dialog box as shown below.

The following output will be generated. This the anova output.

We need to look at the pvalue (highlighted in yellow).

Since the pvalue is less than 0.05, we reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the mean run time in the maze for the different training runs is not the same.
