Question: brief explanation of the phases that the project will go through, the problem/reasons why a new warehouse is required, the background and project goals.

Normally the life cycle of any project involves 5 phases.They are as follows:-

• Project Initiation:- This is the starting point of the project.In this phase, we have decide what type of project we have to start and also take the approval from all the stakeholders.In this case,the project manager is appointed for construction of a new warehouse. He has to analyze the things why the construction of a new warehouse is needed(i., may be due insufficient space,distance etc).
• Project Planning:- This is very important phase.It is the roadmap for the project.To complete the project within the time period, we have to make proper and effective plan to complete the project.It is mainly begins with setting Goals.There are so many methods are available for goal setting like S.M.A.R.T and CLEAR.In this case, the project manager has to set goals by using S.M.A.R.T method i.e., Specific, Measurable,Attainable, Realistic and Timely.I think this is the best method for your project.
• Project Execution:- In this phase we have to implement the plan what we have already made.In this case, the project manager has to develop team,assign resources,execute the plan, procure the required material,set up tracking systems, task assignments,status meetings and modify the project plan whenever he needed.
• Project performance/ monitoring:- In this phase,project managers will use Key Performance Indicators(KPIs) to measure the performance of a project.In this case,during this phase the project manager need to adjust and schedules to ensure the project is on project.
• Project Closure:- This phase represent the completed project.Even the project is completed, the project manager has to complete few small tasks.He need to create project checklist of things that didn't get accomplished during the project and with the help of his team members he has to complete it. He has to prepare project budget and final project report and he has to submit it to the owner.
