How do information technology, EHR systems,
informatics, and bioinformatics shape evidence-based
guidelines?
Describe how EHR systems help eResearch.
Novel technologies have made it easier to conduct research which forms the backbone of evidence based medicine which is practised nowadays. With these systems, healthcare providers have records of what the currently prescribed treatment protocol does, how effective it is, and how patients from different demographics respond to it. These are thus a solid framework for laying down future guidelines and also regulating the current treatment protocols.
