The Scopes Trial was an American legal case, in which a high school teacher named John T Scopes was accused of violating the Butler Act, which prohibited public or government teachers from teaching the Biblical aspect of the origin of mankind. His fault was that he taught Darwin's Theory of Evolution.
This case attracted the attention if media and public very much, and the waves it created is still in the history of American court trials. In the case, Scopes found guilty. BUT the real controversy started there and still continues!!
Scopes was speaking against Bible and its teaching. The Theory of Evolution also denies Bible, as we know, this theory teaches that human beings originated from monkeys. Francis S Collins in his famous book "the language of God, says evolution can and must be directed by God. He was an atheist in his early age , but when he came to know about God he admitted that there is no universe without Him a and no life without Him. We believe that we are all here for a purpose or a reason. In early times, scientist did not believe in God or religion, but now the believe in the existence of God. Darwinian evolution occurs, yet, as he explains, it cannot fully explain human nature. In his book, he reveals number of stunning experiences and testimonies about God.
For those who believe in God, Bible is the way and the light and for those who oppose it is total stupidity. We don' t have a strong faith and knowledge about bible, and that is the reason why we are in the midst of all miseries and worries and problems. Yes, SCIENCE is good and its contribution to the world cannot be left uncounted .BUT, it is not a teacher of morals!! Scientific knowledge should lead man to know Him.
Most of the scientists argue that religion and science cannot go hand in hand. But it should go hand in hand. Our search for knowledge can be attained only through the knowledge of God. Unless we hold His hands, our running towards knowledge will be in the starting point itself, we WON'T reach anywhere. When we are crossing the 21st century, we cannot ignore science as it is , and at the same we must accept the value of Bible. History of science does not go much before 3000 thousand years ago,IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD!!! So what we learn from the Scopes case? We should aim moral values along with scientific knowledge. both religion and science think positively so that the controversy may melt away. Science has made wars( if any), more dangerous than ever because of its sophisticated weapons and all, it has become more devilish and bloody.....Still, there is hope in Bible as it is the true Way and the ultimate Truth!!
The issues brought up in the Scopes Trial never seem to end. These days many think...

After Title VII was enacted, the country started out with such severe race issues that it was not until later that the fine-tuning of looking at color discrimination came along—even though the color issues had been around as long as race had. Be aware that while we tend to be faced with race discrimina- tion where the discriminator is one race and the discriminatee another, with color discrimination that is not necessarily the case.
