“In 2007, when I was working as a reporter for the Washington Post, I found myself standing by the hospital bedside of Deamonte Driver, a Maryland schoolboy who was dying of complications from untreated tooth decay. Doctors said that bacteria from an abscessed tooth had spread to his brain. At the time Deamonte had gotten sick, his mother had been searching for a dentist to see his younger brother who was complaining about dental pain. But they were Medicaid children. And Medicaid dentists were very hard to find. The story of the death of Deamonte Driver, a few miles from the United States Capitol, helped inspire Congressional hearings and state and national efforts to address the shortage of care for millions of poor children across the country. I covered the unfolding events. There seemed to be so much to learn and to say about dental care or the lack of it in America."

As it was clear from Mary's otto statement that Dentistry is considered to be really important because it could be life-threatening danger and could take one's life. The positive outcomes are more when compared to the negative one and the negative outcomes are minimal and could last few hours, The most common observed dental stimuli among the patient fear of getting injected, dental radiographs were taken and the use of scalers are sensitive fear.

Large health care systems affect society today?

The challenges faced in today's dentistry world are there is a shift from the primary to the comprehensive care and there is a lack of specific care treatment and no community-based care is given to the patient. The students should be trained in such a way to give community-based treatment to the patients. Training the students to patient, family community-centered treatment would be a better option in today's healthcare. Larger the health care system affects society today.
