Answer #1

22) What is available is 1 gram (1000mg) in 50 ml. We want is a dose of 350 mg.

So the formula used is Haveonhand = Quantityyouhave = Desir edamount = X

so we have 1000 mg divided by 50 ml = 350 mg (desired amount) divided by X

1000 = 50 = 350 - XX = 350 x 50 - 1000 = 17.5ml.

So 17.5 ml is required to prepare 350 mg.

23) Given, 60 mEq in 6 ml and what we want is 15 mEq.

Haveonhand = Quantityyouhave = Desir edamount = X

60 = 6 = 15 - XX = 15 x 6 = 60 = 1.5ml

So, 1.5 ml is required to prepare 15 mEq.
