Healthcare field is a larger public service sector.It is very essential to get consent from the patients from any type of procedures. This is crucial in case of any legal concerns arising in the future.Informed consent refers to a explaining completely about a therapy,treatment, procedure to the patient about its benefits and consequences in the language they nest understand. They should understand and may accept or refuse to proceed for the particular services in their sound mind.When the patient is unsound or a child the informed consent is taken from the parents or the guardian. The disclosure of all material regarding the services ,capabilities of the patient to make judgments  and volunteering by making decisions are the key elements of informed consent. A children, mentally ill patient , comatose patient ,unconscious patient the informed consent cannot be taken from then in such case the parents and guardian are thoroughly explained and their approval is necessary to provide the care.This is categorized into implied consent and verbal consent when explaining. Hence it acts as an important medical record to handle any legal issues in the future claimed by a patient.
