Discipline is the key characteristic for a good day trader as markets will provide infinite trade opportunities but a good day trader will weight in the risks as applicable to him. Patience is another important trait as timing is the key element in day trading and one cannot expect to make money quickly. To make money on a consistent basis patience is mandatory. A good day trader has to adopt his/her investing strategies as per the prevailing economic conditions.
The tools needed by a good day trader are a trading platform, multiple monitors, high-speed internet, access to news and data feeds. Trading platform and high speed internet is a must in today’s age of digitization. Access to news and data feeds will help the day trader to access accurate and timely information on the basis of which trades will be executed.
A day trader can set shop at their homes and at their offices as well. It should be noted that day trading is speculation in securities and all positions are closed within the same trading day.
