If you are employed in a healthcare facility that admits patients or residents from predominately one or two ethnic groups, such as Dominican or Russian, is it considered to be discriminatory to give hiring prefences to individuals who speak Spanish or Russian?

Hiring process by giving preference to specific language is illegal. An employee has legal rights before entering into the job. According to federal law, the employer should not discriminate the employee based on sex, race, religion, language, gender, origin in the hiring process. The hiring of individuals on the basis of language is considered as violating of anti-discrimination law. The employee can protect the anti-discrimination law through the right of attorney.
