Answer #1

When a pair dice is cast then sample space is

                 Omega = { (1,1), (1,2) , (1,3) , (1,4) ...(1,6)

                           (2,1) , (2,2), ...(2,6) ...(6,6)}

                n(Omega )=36

Let A = Event that the sum of the number showing up is exactly 7.

Therefore,

             A = { (1,6) , (2,5) , (3,4), (4,3), (5,2) , (6,1)}

             n(A) = 6

By classical definition of probability

              P(A)=n(12) (30.1667 36 6

   Hence, Probability = 0.1667

    matlab The error function is a mathematical function that frequently arises in probability and statistics. It also can show up in the solution to some partial differential equations, particularly those arising in heat and mass transfer applications. The error function is defined as 2 e-t dt picture attached This function is actually built-in to MATLAB as the command erf, and here we'll use that function to compute a "true value" with which we can compare results of two interpolation approaches....

    Example Consider the following dice game. A pair of standard ( fair ) dice are repeatedly rolled. If a ’ 7 ’ comes up before an ’ 11 ’ , then the player wins, otherwise the player loses. Let W be the event that the player wins. Find P(W). To say the dice are fair is equivalent to assuming that Laplace’s rule holds and the 36 possible outcomes for a throw of the dice are equally likely. For convenience, an...

    Please show all work and steps! Would like to learn how! Given a second order linear homogeneous differential equation a2(x)y" + a1(x)y' + 20 (x)y = 0 we know that a fundamental set for this ODE consists of a pair linearly independent solutions Yı, Y2. But there are times when only one function, call it Yı, is available and we would like to find a second linearly independent solution. We can find Y2 using the method of reduction of order....
