Answer each question in 3-5 sentences
How would you help educate people on the importance of prevention?
Why do you think mental health issues are so common in adolescents?
Ans) After all, prevention can impact the health of people of all ages. As the CDC reports, preventing illness and disease can help children attend school for more days per year and improve their academic achievement. Similarly, healthy adults can attend work for more days each year and improve their productivity.
- Creating awareness of the disease and its effects on millions of people in the world is critically important.
- Health education establishes people's awareness, skills, and encourages them to adopt positive attitudes towards their wellbeing. Health education raises students’ knowledge about physical, mental, emotional and social health. It motivates youth to improve and maintain their health, prevent diseases, and avoid unhealthy behaviors.
- The most common mental illnesses in teens are:
Generalized anxiety—Excessive worry about everyday matters.
Social phobias—Severe feelings of self-consciousness and insecurity
in social settings.
Depression—Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, and/or
emptiness.
- The abnormal engagement of brain regions to emotional facial expressions in adolescents may underlie realistic appraisal of emotions and thereby predispose to anxiety and depression. Hormonal changes that occur during adolescence are likely to account for at least part of the risk for mood and anxiety disorders.
