Evidence based care is the an important method to render health care services to the patient based on having the possible evidence for each care activity.

Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is “the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of the individual patient. It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available external clinical evidence from systematic research”.

• EBP is important because it aims to provide the most effective care that is available, with the aim of improving patient outcomes.
• Patients expect to receive the most effective care based on the best available evidence.
• EBP promotes an attitude of inquiry in health professionals and starts us thinking about: rationale for every activity
• EBP also plays a role in ensuring that finite health resources are used wisely and that relevant evidence is considered when decisions are made about funding health services.

Challenges faces by the nurses when using evidence based care:-

• culture of nursing practice that represent a nurse as a care-giver, but not a researcher. So that it is a challenge for the nurse administrator to implement Evidence based care
• Lack of knowledge of the nurses regarding evidences
• misperception and negative attitudes on research and evidence based practices
• Nursing work overload
• constraints within the organization.
• Patients demands not suited with evidence based care
