Change process is the modification of someone's behavior or changing the organizational process etc.

Kurt Lewis developed a theory that explains stages of change process.

There are mainly three stages as below.

  1. Unfreeze: take a decision to change and make arrangements for change. Determine the supports for change
  2. Change: Plan of action and work the action plan
  3. Refreeze:- implement the change, habituate to change, develop a ways to sustain change and enjoy the success of change.

Example: If you want to change the cube shaped ice to cone shaped ice

Unfreeze: take a decision to change the shape of ice , melt the ice through unfreezing

Change: pore the unfreezed water into the cone shape vessel. Make arrangements for changing the shape

Refreeze: Freeze the water again to make the ice in cone shape.
