Answer #1

Lewin’s three step process:

  1. Unfreezing: The purpose of change will be explained to the employees in the organization and ensure the employees will understand the need for the change.
  2. Changing: In this stage the implementation of changes will take place as where the plan of change would change to reality. The new learning, behaviours etc for the employees will be added in this stage so that the employees would get adapted towards the change.
  3. Refreezing: In this stage the new structure, policies etc would be set and the employees would follow the same. The employees will maintain the change and ensure to retain the brand of the organization in the market.

The below step would be the hardest among the three:

Unfreezing is the hardest among the three steps and the reason provided below:

  1. The employees will be uncomfortable to adapt on the change and they would create conflicts with the management.
  2. Making employees to understand on the need of the change would be difficult for the management, as the employees will not understand the same.
  3. The employees would be flexible with the organization structure; culture etc, so informing the purpose of the change will be a challenge to the management as they resist on change.
  4. Creating awareness would be a problem for the management as the organization need to spend and train the employees to accept and adapt towards the change.
  5. Retaining the employees would be a problem because the employees would shift because of change.
  6. Leaders would face difficulty in motivating the employees to accept the change in the organization.

The following experience helps to develop a manager's ability during the change process:

  1. The manager will develop innovative ideas to adapt and implement on change, so that different techniques and tools would be used towards innovation process and that helps the manager to adapt on organization system, structure, culture etc changes.
  2. The manager would use their skill and knowledge to ensure the company to sustain longer in the market by implementing change process, so required skills would be used by them and the manager would show the ability towards the same.
  3. The managers would develop communication ability so that would help them to make understand the employees to adapt towards change, so that the manager interpersonal skills could be developed through change process.
  4. The managers will develop the ability to train their employees to accept the change and ensure the team to work for the change process.
