HIPAA policy protects the privacy and security rules. It makes disciplinary action, it creates a standard rule and safeguards to maintain confidentiality, integrity and it protect health information. HIPAA policy rules improve patient access to care to deliver privacy and security and it maintains patient trust and public confidence. HIPAA covered entity identify if there is any health information is breached.
HIPAA and HITECH policy increased the work scope. It makes patient trust in Electronic health records and health information exchange and health care reform. It creates a provider response to breaches. organization should make sure HIPAA privacy and security violations and important of avoiding protected health information(PHI) that was breached. This action avoid serious consequences and organization workforce. As organizational accountable federal and state laws protect the breach prevention and penalties. EHR functionality safeguards the patient and meets compliance. lack of applying sanction within the organization can make risk and violation. Under HITECH state attorneys general bring civil suits against covered entities to protect the patient. Intentional violations can harm the organization and patients. Penalties for noncompliance can vary as per negligence and violations and cause of the fact.PHI covered patients with HIV related, psychological, substance use protection, violations of falls at higher risk category it needs proper investigation and action. Discrimination activity makes a complaint against organization.
