The individuals participation in healthcare practices greatly depend on their culture, believes and practices.

There are certain cultural beliefs widely in practice that is the beliefs of getting sick when they talk about it repeatedly ,circumcision on newborn are believed to be done in certain culture as a way of preventing infection and also as a religious norms.The decisions are made by the head of the family or the male partners in certain communities has to be valued and known by a healthcare professionals while providing services.

E.g.,

The Jehovah's witness strictly refuse blood transfusion and related treatments on their beliefs and practices

In Arab countries female can not make decisions and has to stand to the culture when it comes to getting a healthcare services.

Certain cultures has restrictions on thier diet in the way of preparations ,what to eat and not,timings to eat ,type of foods to eat etc.,This is very important to be known by a healthcare professional because this can interfere with the treatment by patinet refusing to eat food.
