Using your textbook (Chp 5): Discuss the role of the Liver, Gall bladder and Pancreas in digestion of fat in the small intestine.

Role of liver- liver produces bile and deliver it to the common hepatic duct. bile is a mixture of water bile salt, bile pigments ,phospho lipids ,cholesterol and triglyceride. Bile emulsify large lipid globules in tiny lipid or lipid droplet.

Role of gall bladder- gallbladder stores concentrated bile in and release in small intestine (duodenum ) ,when it is required.

Role of pancreas- Fats are water insoluble, so for the digestion of lipid pancreas secrets pancreatic juice lipase. Lipase act on molecules near the edge of fat droplet(emulsification of fat by the bile salt) then disassemble the triglyceride,creating two fatty acid and one monoglyceride.
