Fh=(m1+m2)a

32=8*a

a=4m/s2

the net force acting in horizontal direction

Fh-F'=m2a

F' =force they both exert on each other

and both the forces are pushing the 5 kg box, the force of 32 N through m1 and the opposite force that m2 experiences

F'=Fh-m2a

F'=32-(5*4)

F'=32-20

F'=12 N.

so the answer is 12 N.
