Answer #1

ANSWER: A. Job A

Scheduling using Johnson's rule: Select the job with the shortest processing time, if that is for Operation 1 (WC10), then schedule the job first, if that is for Operation 2 (WC20), then schedule the job last. Remove the jobs which are scheduled from further consideration. Repeat the process until all jobs are scheduled. Using Johnson's rule, jobs are scheduled as follows:

Minimum processing time is 3, for job A it is on WC20 , so A is scheduled at last. for job B it is on WC10, so B is scheduled the first. C is scheduled after B.

B-C-A

Flowtime
Job WC10 WC20 WC10 WC20
B 3 6 3 9
C 9 5 12 17
A 5 3 17 20

We see that flowtime (or completion time on WC20) of job A is greater than its due date. Therefore, job A will not meet the due date.
