Transient flora are micro organisms that resides in the skin for a short time period. They are also called as Temporary skin flora.Transient flora include all kinds of microbes like bacteria,fungi,viruses etc..that colonizes the skin for a short period of time.
They reaches the skin either through direct contact or through objects which contain them. Some of them are harmless while some may cause serious illness to the host. Eg: Norovirus is a virus which causes vomiting and diarrhoea (called stomach flu) in people. Transient flora can be easily removed by washing with soap and water or by using antiseptics.They are generally found in the hands of nurses and health care workers.
