The example of a surface I would disinfect is floor of a kitchen or a bathroom.

The example of a surface I would use an antiseptic on is skin or  wound.

This is because disinfectant and antiseptic are chemicals which destroy the bacteria when applied. But disinfectants are used on objects that are non living while antiseptic are meant to be used for living things. The disinfectants are poisonous substances and can harm a living being if applied on while antiseptics help prevent any infection.
