Question

(3) Methods That Return a Value (10 points) Write a method dominant that accepts three integers as parameters and returns true if any one of the three integers is larger than the sum of the other two integers. The integers might be passed in any order, so the largest value could be any of the three. If no value is larger than the sum of the other two, your method should return false. For example, the call of dominant (4, 9, 2) would return true because 9 is larger than 4 +2. The call of dominant (5, 3, 7) would return false because none of those three numbers is larger than the sum of the others. You may assume that none of the numbers is negative. public static

Answer #1

public static boolean dominant(int a, int b, int c) {
if(a>b+c || b>a+c || c>a+b) {
return true;
}
else {
return false;
}
}

We specify the return type as boolean since we return either true or false. The if condition checks if the sum is greater than the other and returns true, else it returns false. I have also attached a screenshot of the test case given in the question.

Break ties by returning the lower value For example, {1,2,2,3,4,4} would return 2 as the most common int. B. 1. Write a function named “areFirstTwoTheSameAsTheLastTwo” that accepts an array of integers, its size and return true if the first two numbers in the array are the same as the last two numbers in the array. It returns false otherwise. If the array has less than 4 elements, it always returns false. For example, this array of {10, 20, 30, 40, 10, 20} or {10, 20, 10, 20} will return true but this array of {10, 20, 20, 10} or...
