The six unifying themes of biology are:

1. Cell structure and function: It deals with the various cell organelles like cell membrane, mitochondria, ribosomes, nucleus and how their working helps in several metabolisms taking place in the organism.

2. Stability and Homeostasis: Homeostasis maintains the functioning of human body.

3. Reproduction and inheritance: Reproduction or division of cell leads to the formation of a new organism or a cell with same DNA. The characteristic features of the organism are inherited through generations via the DNA (genes).

4. Evolution: This deals with how the plant kingdom has evolved from the ancestral plants sustaining the changing environmental conditions.

5. Interdependence of organisms: All the organisms are closely connected to each other and are interdependant on each other. Like tertiary consumers on secondary consumers, secondary consumers on primary consumers and primary consumers on producers. All the organisms are ecologically connected.

6. Matter, Energy and organization: It deals with how the matter flows through various organisms and how the energy from one ecosystem is directed to the other ecosystem in the environment.
