An individual becomes a manager based on his talent, skills and expertise. Talent as well as personality act as stepping stones based on which the individual can reach till the managerial position. However to be effective in this position, the attitude and behavioral disposition of the manager will be the most critical component. The primary job of a manager is to manage his team and keep them motivated. The attitude of the manager helps him to connect with his team and analyze and understand their perspective efficiently. This helps the manager to make the work environment conducive to facilitate the work of his team. The attitude of manager and his bond with the team, facilitates the synergy as well as morale of the team and helps the team to succeed effectively. Hence, in my views, when it comes to good management, the attitude of the manager and how it affects people is the most critical factor.
