Mentoring is defined as the opportunity for an individual to be led by a wiser and more experienced colleague, who can pass on knowledge, experience, and often make opportunities for advancement available that would have otherwise been unavailable to the protégé. Think of an instance when you had a mentor. Your example can be from a work experience, a club, or any other organization. How did this mentor help you? What types of advice or guidance did your mentor provide? Did you find ways to apply what you learned from this mentor in future situations? Please be specific.

I was been working on a development program hosted by my organization. My colleagues were been on the program for a while and as a newcomer, i lacked the experience on it. I had great exposure to the banking world and the digital revolution.
But, I was struggling with basic soft skills which are essential for the field I work. Presentation skills and time management were mu struggling parts. Then my boss came and asked many questions regarding my challenge and suggested alternative actions to try.
She helped me by speaking freely with these concerns and it generated immense confidence in myself and it outshined in my performance too. She chose new learning materials and concepts to meet my challenges so that I could overcome it.
