  • The siRNA (small interfering Ribonucleic Acid ), is a class of double-stranded RNA molecules.
  • It is also known as short interfering RNA or silencing RNA.
  • The siRNA gene silencing starts with the assembly of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) after the transcription using mRNA.
  • The complex formed then silence  gene expression by cleaving the mRNA molecules which codes target genes.
  • siRNAs are used to inhibit gene expression in mammalian cells for analysis of gene function and gene therapy.
  • Gene editing is a concept of DNA double stranded break or repair mechanics.
  • Gene editing  is a type of genetic engineering in which DNA is inserted, deleted, modified or replaced in the genome of a living organism.
